There was a major issue with the arrow keys not responding in the BasicBrowser module, we fixed this thanks to Jeroen Landheer http://jeroenlandheer.com

Version 5.06 fixed menu key block, this wasn't blocked correctly if one checked the key on the 'main keyboard'

Version 5.03
Fixed button problem BasicBrowser. In flash games the browser didn't respond to key presses because the top split panel had focus.

Version 5.02
  • Added Back and Next buttons to BasicBrowser

  • Quick resolution changer makes it possible to quickly change the resolution since many kid websites and programs come out really small on higher res monitors (thanks to Philipp Zeissig .

  • Force Top Mode, checking this forces basicbrowser to always stay on top, kids stay focussed!

We decided to release a freeware version of the BasicBrowser component.
Lets hope some people will enjoy using it and more important give feedback about what they like or dislike

We noticed there was a major bug in the BasicBrowser component, the cancel invallid clicks on links to websites other than the ones permitted didn't function at all!!!
BasicBrowser did block 'new window' calls but when a user clicked on e.g. a google add the browser navigated to the website without hesitation..

We fixed that in version 5.15

Attention: if you are running BasicMouse with Vista you might encounter some accessviolationexceptions errors in the BasicBrowser component due to a very common BIOS setting:
'EXECUTE DISABLE BIT'. This causes DEP to terminate the BasicMouse application Quick and Dirty...

If you want to solve this, reboot your system press F2 (or another function key) and disable this feature in the BIOS.

Some websites change their 'root' domain when you follow a link, for instance www.playhousedisney.com redirects to http://atv.disney.go.com/ so if you want to allow playhousedisney you also have to allow access to atv.disney.go.com!

Best practice is to first enter the URLS in a regular browser and see where they take you to.
