Educational software: a really useful program for students and kids:

  • Helps them learn to use the mouse.
  • Prevents them from accidentally clicking the right mouse button.

  • Let them learn and achieve goals without being distracted.
  • Don't allow them to use other programs outside the BasicBrowser (with fixed url access)

WHAT ARE YOUR CHILDREN DOING ONLINE?
BasicMouse, BasicBoard and BasicBrowser Kiosk Software puts parents and teachers back in control!

Or use it as Kiosk software (source: Worldwide Internet Kiosk Browser Analysis)
Personal computers usually belong to their users and provide them with access to all functions and applications. However, at public access (Internet) terminals users will only have access to contents the operator of the terminal wants them to access. All other functions and applications will be restricted. In addition, the terminal operators may want the kiosk run for a long time without any human intervention, which would require a software providing a high level of security as well as extensive control management.

The right mouse button can be switched off completely, all buttons can be set to send left-clicks, mouse clicks can be restricted to a particular area of the screen and much more.
The key / mouse blocking feature makes BasicMouse the ideal tool for gamers too!

It's simple and efficient, your kids can surf and play without getting distracted, (educational) games, music, stories,
colouring pictures, it makes it all a lot easier!
The only button that remains functional is your left mouse button.
Run the program, do your stuff and click on the icon in the systray to restore your (normal) mouse settings. {mosimage}

Particularly useful when Flash games are used.

  • Finally "Merge Mouse Buttons" is here,  all 3 mouse buttons (left - right and middle) act like a left mouse button.
It doesn't matter which button is pressed the computer will always think it's the left mouse button!
  • Restricted Mouse Click area' for instance is a function we had a lot of requests for.
Just blocking the right mouse button just wasn't enough, your little sunshine could still reach the start button and send your tax docs to the recycle bin
or he / she could start an unexpected journey on the WWW if you weren't watching!

Restrict Mouse Click Area

Click 'Set Click Area' a transparent form pops up so you can see the underlying screen, drag a box to set the area in which
you allow mouse clicks, et voila!

  • Block All Keys, just like it says disables your keyboard. Use it when your kids are watching a DVD or for instance in a store to prevent
customers from messing around with the computers displayed!
  • Exit password, ask for a password when users want to return to a normal mode / fully operational keyboard. if the password
entered is false the computer keeps running in restricted mode.
  • Blocks multimedia keys like browser, e-mail, etc.

Now you can use 3 shortcut keys which makes operating the program a lot easier, do you want to help a user, press
CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-E to temporary enable mouse and keyboard, press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D to disable them back again.
CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-Q quits the program, which is especially handy if you restricted the click area and you're not able to click
in the systray ;)

educational, safe surfing, restrict public computers, gamers  aid?

One tool, many solutions!

BasicMouse and BasicBoard by Dolesoft

BasicMouse requires the microsoft .NET 2.0 framework...

WHAT ARE YOUR CHILDREN DOING ONLINE?

New in BasicMouse and BasicBoard Version 5.0: BasicBrowser a web browser component which let's you add websites your kids or students can visit safely.
The BasicBrowser will only let them surf on the 'approved web sites', click requests on ads, other websites which url is different from the one you specify will be simply ignored.

BasicBrowser Surf Safer!

You can lock the screen, this removes the scroll bars this way the 'action area' always stays centered in your browser.
Locking the browser will (temporarily) disable the websites buttons preventing the user from 'surfing away'

Why BasicBrowser instead of your regular browser?

  1. Users are not able to enter anything in the address bar and visit unwanted websites.
  2. Users are only allowed to visit the sites you want them to visit.
  3. Users can not visit the 'favourites' / 'bookmarked websites'.
  4. Users can not mess up your browsers configuration settings.
  5. Use the browser more 'focused' without being distracted thanks to the 'lock browser / screen' buttons and in combination with the BasicMouse keyboard and mouse settings.
  6. Users can not accidentally visit a website listed in the (address bar) history.

BasicBrowser is the perfect web browser for kids and students!

Newsflash

Attention: if you are running BasicMouse with Vista you might encounter some accessviolationexceptions errors in the BasicBrowser component due to a very common BIOS setting:
'EXECUTE DISABLE BIT'. This causes DEP to terminate the BasicMouse application Quick and Dirty...
http://www.intel.com/technology/xdbit/index.htm

If you want to solve this, reboot your system press F2 (or another function key) and disable this feature in the BIOS.

Some websites change their 'root' domain when you follow a link, for instance www.playhousedisney.com redirects to http://atv.disney.go.com/ so if you want to allow playhousedisney you also have to allow access to atv.disney.go.com!

Best practice is to first enter the URLS in a regular browser and see where they take you to.
